説明
Portable 3D coordinate measuring arm (CMM) from FARO’s proven Titanium series. The system offers a high degree of flexibility and precision for direct use in production environments or quality assurance.
It was developed by FARO Technologies for precise tactile measurements directly on the shop floor or in quality control applications.
Key Features & Technical Details
Technology: Manual articulated measuring arm with internal encoders for precise point acquisition in 3D space.
Applications: Ideal for first article inspections, component comparison against CAD data, as well as the measurement of sheet metal parts and fixtures.
Combination of mobile measuring arm (FARO Titanium) and welded assemblies
1. Initial situation and system advantages
Integrating the Titanium FaroArm® into the welding process provides a cost-effective and highly precise solution for quality assurance directly in the workshop. Instead of transporting components to a separate measuring room, quality checks can be carried out directly at the welding station.
2. Core applications in welding technology
• Fixture construction & alignment: Fast inspection and adjustment of welding fixtures before the welding process in order to minimize welding distortion.
• In-process component inspection: Measurement of tack weld points and intermediate stages directly on the welding table to reduce scrap.
Fodpfx Aszz H Alemyegg
• CAD-to-part analysis: Direct comparison of the welded assembly with the 3D CAD model to identify thermal deformation.
• Reverse engineering: Digitization of handcrafted prototypes or older welded constructions for the creation of CAD data.
Technical Properties at a Glance
Cost efficiency:
Cost-effective alternative to the Platinum model for applications with flexible tolerances.
Robustness:
Suitable for workshop use directly next to welding equipment and in demanding production environments.
Mobility:
Flexible transport to large welded assemblies and heavy frames.
Precision:
High accuracy for compliance with common welding tolerances, e.g. ISO 13920.
Technical Data & Details
Model: FARO Titanium Arm
Serial number: N06-02-07-22898
Measuring range / size: 6 Foot, approx. 1.8 m working range
Axes: 7-axis system for maximum mobility, also with complex components
Revision: 25.8
Certified Precision & Calibration
Last certification date: September 2, 2021
Single-point repeatability: 0.0410 mm
Volumetric accuracy: 0.0570 mm
Next calibration due: According to the inspection label, in 2026
Software Compatibility
The measuring arm operates via a conventional USB interface and is compatible with common metrology software such as FARO CAM2, PolyWorks, Geomagic or Verisurf.
Everything from a single source: We will be happy to offer you suitable bank financing for your project.
