The CORMAK ZX 7055 VARIO DRO milling and drilling machine is a high-performance universal machine designed for drilling, milling, and tapping operations in steel and cast iron. Its robust cast-iron construction, continuously variable spindle speed control in two ranges, and digital position readout system ensure high accuracy and repeatability in single-piece and small-batch production.
Main Advantages of the Machine
Rigid cast-iron base and column – provide excellent stability during machining of demanding workpieces, reduce vibrations, and extend tool life.
Continuously variable spindle speed control in two ranges:
Low range: 75–438 rpm
High range: 438–2500 rpm
Allows optimal selection of cutting parameters depending on tool diameter and material.
2-axis digital readout system (DRO) – enables fast and accurate positioning while reducing setup time and eliminating reading errors from manual scales.
Automatic spindle feed – ensures smooth cutting performance and reduces the risk of drill breakage during deep drilling operations.
Thread cutting function – after reaching the preset tapping depth, the spindle automatically reverses direction.
Ground gears – provide quiet transmission operation and stable spindle torque.
Dovetail slideways on machine axes – ensure precise table movement and accurate geometry.
Rotating head ±90° with height adjustment – allows easy execution of angled machining operations, chamfers, and undercuts.
Left/right spindle rotation – enables safe tapping and tool withdrawal.
Efficient cooling system – effectively removes heat from the cutting zone, prevents overheating of tools and material, improves machining accuracy, and extends cutting tool life.
The core of the machine is a heavy cast-iron structure with wide guideways, minimizing deflection during face and end milling operations. The large cross table provides a spacious working area and features a precisely ground surface to ensure accurate workpiece positioning.
The spindle with an MK4 taper is driven by an S1/S6 1.5/1.8 kW motor with variable speed control. The integrated cooling system stabilizes the cutting temperature and improves the quality of machined surfaces.
The combination of a 2-axis DRO system, ground gears, and rigid guideways provides excellent dimensional repeatability and high surface finish quality.
The automatic spindle feed and two-speed spindle range allow optimal machining parameters for:

drilling in cast iron up to Ø45 mm,
