The turning device consists of two opposing tables, each with a support surface of 1400 x 900 mm. On the side of the table that is at the bottom during swiveling, the load-bearing steel profiles are angled upward by 90° to securely hold the plate being turned even in a vertical position during a 90° rotation.
Both tables are positioned opposite each other and are swiveled by 100° using hydraulic cylinders. The tables are mounted on a load-bearing base frame, with one table fixed in place and the other movable. The movement is performed by hydraulic cylinders which can displace the table mounted on rollers by approx. 300 mm. The base frame also houses the hydraulic and electrical components.

A hydraulic power unit is used as the drive source, supplying oil to the cylinders in response to control commands. The respective valves are actuated electrically and/or hydraulically, initiating and maintaining the required table movements in interaction with each other until the turning process is complete.
Particular attention in the design of the hydraulic system is given to operational safety and sensitive switching between pushing and pulling motions. The geometry of the table pivot axes results in changing load effects on the tilt cylinders. The hydraulics are designed to ensure the required performance and prevent overloading the components during normal operation. Suitable filters, in combination with a generously sized tank, ensure high availability of the hydraulic system.
The necessary electrical control system is fully integrated into a sheet steel enclosure housing all required components. The core of the control system is a PLC, which processes operating parameters based on the programmed specifications. The emergency stop function and all relays and evaluation units required to operate the functions are also installed. Operation of the turning device is via a control panel featuring a touch panel for entering function parameters, such as Table 1 swivel up, Table 1 swivel down, Table 1 forward, Table 1 back, Table 2 swivel up, Table 2 swivel down, as well as automatic start/stop.
To prevent table collision in manual mode, the PLC programming ensures this by using table position and tilt data.
After resolving an emergency stop, the PLC control independently completes the turning process.
The turning device is equipped with heavy-duty castors, making it mobile.
We have several of these devices in daily operation. This unit is unused.
