Energieverbund Bielersee AG

Energieverbund Bielersee AG plans, constructs, and operates a district heating and cooling network in the Bielersee region. The company uses lake water from Lake Bielersee as a local energy source to supply properties with renewable heating and cooling. The district energy network was established in 2020, construction started in 2021, and since 2023, the first network sections have been supplied with energy. Today, the supply already covers several areas in Biel, Nidau, and Ipsach and is being continuously expanded.
